Kela Vada

Ingredients:

  • 6 to 8 raw banana (boiled)
  • 1 ginger & 4-5 chilly paste.
  • ½ cup coriander leaves (finely chopped)
For Tempering
  • 2 tsp muster seeds.
  • 8-10 curry leaves.
  • ¼ tsp asafetida.
  • 1tsp Turmeric powder.
  • 1tbsp oil.

For Cover
  • 2cup gram flour.
  • 1cup water (as required)
  • 1tsp turmeric powder.
  • Salt as per taste.
  • Pinch soda-bi-carbonate.
  • 1tsp oil.
  • Oil for deep fry.
Method::
  • Boil raw banana, peel and mash it.
  • Then put ginger-chilly paste, coriander leaves & salt.
  • Heat oil in a pan put mustard seeds, curry leaves and turmeric powder mix in smashed banana.
  • Mix it well.
  • Make small balls of them.
  • Mix little water & salt, oil, soda-bi-carbonate, turmeric powder in gram flour & make a fine batter.
  • Batter should not be thick & loose.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Deep balls in the batter & fry on a slow flame until it turns in golden brown color.
  • Serve hot with green chutney & jaggery- tamarind chutney.
